Who is the call intended for?
The STEP SPIN call is intended for business consortia from Northern, Adriatic, or Pannonian Croatia that want to invest in the research and development of innovative products, services, or technologies within regional value chain (RVC) segments and STEP-relevant sectors, with the goal of commercialization.
The call supports industrial research activities (TRL 2–4), experimental development activities (TRL 5–8), and the preparation of feasibility studies.
Who can apply?
Micro, small, medium, and large companies in a consortium of at least three entrepreneurs from the same region, of which at least two must be SMEs. Partners can also be research organizations.
The applicant and business partners are eligible if they:*
- Are not in difficulties
- Have at least one employee in 2023
- Their total business revenues amount to more than 30% of the requested support
- Have a positive EBITDA for two years before submitting the application
STEP sectors include digital technologies (deep tech innovations), clean and resource-efficient technologies (clean tech), and biotechnology (biotech).
*Changes to the listed conditions are expected in the new version of the call.
Which costs are eligible?
For the applicant: equipment and machinery, employee training for operating equipment, installation of equipment and machinery, etc.
For the applicant and partners: employee salaries, depreciation costs, consulting services, feasibility studies, patents, implementation and visibility costs, indirect costs, etc.
What is the application deadline?
The application deadline is not yet known. The call will be conducted as a temporary call, meaning that all applications submitted by the deadline will go through the evaluation process and a ranking list will be created.
